Bouquet

A Bouquet from the Garden

In this case the garden is The State Botanical Garden of Georgia, located in Athens, Georgia. It provides a conservatory and over 300 acres of gardens and natural areas with miles of trails.

The bouquet includes “café art” renderings and photographs. In fact the images range across the “divide”. All are painstakingly processed to bring out what I thought I want to show. In some cases that was done by using a “painterly” approach. For some others I wanted to retain photo-realism yet show the subject impressively. Some of the images are really nearly photo-realistic café art, maybe you will recognize one or two.

As a change of pace, the images here link to pictures in my album “Bouquet from the Garden” on my Ludwig.Photos site. This site has undergone major renovations recently. Indeed, it is still being tweaked. This is the first time that I use any links to it. Some of these might not quite work as expected.

  1. Just completed watching the slide show, Ludwig, and it worked perfectly on my iPad. You had so many beautiful captures that it must have been hard to select from the countless ohotos you must have taken in the Botanical Gardens. I plan to return to the gallery to check out other slide shows as well. Thanks, as always, for sharing your wonderful photos of the world around us and the natural beauty that abounds.

  2. Thank you very much, Beatrice, for your kind words. It is always a wonderful day when we get over to Athens and the Botanical Garden. There is so much there, we have yet to see most of the natural areas. Wish we had more stamina, we do get tired out before we run out of time. The new version of jAlbum and the PhotoBlogger "skin" are working very nicely. The developer has been very helpful in getting some of the details explained and tweaked. I really like it now.

  3. You are welcome, Ludwig. Wondered about your reference to jAlbum and the Photoblogger skin...does this refer to the slide show presentation?

  4. Clicking on any image in the post takes you to that image in my Ludwig.Photos site ( http://ludwig.photos/ ). That site is built with jAlbum photo album software. I have had and used this program for many years but only recently used their "PhotoAlbum skin" which provides a very nice interface and viewing experience. The application is quite inexpensive ($30), I have used it for several years. You might wish to explore this product at http://jalbum.net - Note: You need your own hosted site to build an online album (see my offerings at http://cloudladder.net/ ).

  5. Thanks, Ludwig, for the explanation. I checked out the websites you referenced and both were interesting. However, at this point, I am forgoing any expenditures on technology, not because of cost, but more my own limited interest in learning and working at photography. Oddly enough, it's a change from my attitude years ago when I would eagerly buy software and photo equipment.
