Dreaming Tulip

How about a little café art? Just for fun and a greeting to all my friends.

  1. Greetings back to you as well, Ludwig, and many thanks for this cheerful tulip art. Of course, I am curious as to "how" it was done.

    1. Hello Beatrice -- This, like many of my cate art pieces, was done in a three step process. The first step was running the base photo through an online tool like Deep Dream. I don't think it was actually that app as I can't find it online in my DD site. It was done some three years ago. The result was not to my liking and it sat there all these months. Then I came across it a couple days ago and decided it had merit. I upscaled it to the same dimensions as the base photo using Topaz Labs Gigapixel. Then I loaded both into PaintShop Pro. Selected the tulip only and combined it partially with the upscaled art. You have seen the result. I have done a similarly processed photo of a charming young lady the following day. Take a look at https://silvercanvas.wordpress.com/2022/05/10/haylee/ - Only the eyes, nose and mouth were retained from the base photo and recolored to match the art. I rather think it turned out well.

  2. Thanks Ludwig for that very detailed explanation on the processes involved. While I enjoyed the end result very much, it is very doubtful that I will ever do such a process myself. After I looked at the other image, I will agree it turned out very well indeed. You are a master at your craft for sure, my friend.

I hope your are doing well. We are on a(nother) road trip currently and will be spending the week in Atlantic Beach, NC, as Patrick wanted some beach time. He missed getting any when we were in FL this past Feb as the weather was rainy and chilly.
