A few vignettes from a stroll at UGA

“Vignette” has the meaning of a small image that provides an impressionistic glimpse of a scene or subject. Nowadays we use the term to mean a fade to dark border on a picture. Here I use both meanings quite literally. Enjoy some glimpses of the University of Georgia campus from an afternoon stroll. We set out to go to lunch, I snapped a few photos along the way. This was not a photo walk, I just used my smartphone. The photos were post-processed in Photo Gallery, PaintShop Pro and Picasa. Picasa supplied all the vignetting.LK_000626-PpV-1024

Picasa reconstructs the walk and the photo stops, and yes, you can tell where we took our meal – always a good place to eat.

  1. Very nice photographs; like the vignette effect on them.

  2. Thank you Linda. It is rare for me to use vignetting, but after the first one, it seemed like a neat idea. Glad to know that it worked not just for me.

  3. Enjoyed the UGA walk, Ludwig, and you had a great day weather-wise too. Looks like a nice campus to stroll around and a possible destination when we do get to our southern road trip some time in the future.

  4. Thank you Beatrice! Definitely a great destination. And when you are done with the campus and downtown Athens there is the botanical garden and more. Plan on a couple of extra days. Looking forward to your visit!

  5. Thanks Ludwig for the travel tips and wish we had a travel date set, but our focus now (sorry about the bad pun) is on hoping our VA home sells in the future so we can be on the road again. We are planning a road trip at Easter to visit family in New England...the snow may be gone by then.
